How To Photograph Birds

Bird Photography


Birds are often difficult to photograph in comparison to other animal groups because so much of the time you simply can’t follow them; you may have just a fleeting few seconds with your subject before it flutters up and away beyond the canopy and across the valley. You will need patience to photograph birds, but combine that with a little luck and a lot of research and you’ll be on your way to capturing the winning shot!





General tips:-

1. Get to know about your gears and its features. ( Perfect it to make changes in the settings blindly )
Learn how to use your camera’s features to create beautiful Pictures.You have to cover digital photography basics like camera settings, resolution and exposure levels, and how to properly white balance to make your pictures pop.

2. Try different Genre's of photography ( Food, Fashion, Street, Portraits, Landscapes, Wildlife etc)
With so many different types of photography out there it can get confusing and be hard to know  every budding photographer should try out in which he/her interested.

3. Based on the interest, Choose suitable lens, equipments and follow the work of Artist's of the interested Genre. ( Ex. Wildife: Sudhir Shivaram, Varun Aditya.
Landscape: Audiphotography, Bobby Joshi)



4. Refer to Youtube Videos and upgrade your skills.
Everyone’s trying to learn photography these days, which is great because photography is such an amazing creative outlet. One way to learn would be to take these online photography courses but there’s a less daunting option available: YouTube videos.


5. Implement the tips in the field referred from social media and experience the changes in your skills.
When it comes to being a photographer, there is no shortage of online networks waiting for you to share your images, interact with others and potentially grow your skills. From Facebook, Twitter Instagram,Pinterest, 500px.Etc.

6. Before leaving home and location cross check the equipments. ( Many forget batteries, bag, tripods etc )

Main tips:-

1. Study about the specie you want to capture like their Habitat, Size & Types ( Refer youtube, google and the also enquire with people who have knowledge about it )
2. When you spot a specie dont run behind it or get excited. Stay calm and allow it to get used to you and then you can reward yourself with stunning images.
3. Try visiting the location several times and try clicking with different settings and angles.
4. Dont let people know the exact location. Its your effort so take advantage of it. Let others search it on their own.
5. Make sure you dont cause any harm to the animals and birds. Just be patient and they will surely pose for you with unique actions.
